Lucrezia Reichlin (born in Rome, August 14, 1954) is an Italian economist. Born in 1954, she is the daughter of Alfredo Reichlin, former deputy of the PCI and PDS, and of Luciana Castellina, founder of the manifesto and also deputy; her brother Pietro Reichlin is a well-known economist. After completing high school at the Liceo Tasso in Rome, she graduated in economics at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in 1980, and then got a Ph.D. at New York University in 1986. Since 1994 she is professor of economics at the Université libre de Bruxelles. From 2005 to 2008, she was Director General of Research at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt, during Jean-Claude Trichet's presidency, one of 12 Directors General of the ECB.
